Tips til gravering av gifteringer July 18 2015

English below---

Her kommer noen forslag til gravering.

Strofer / Sitat:
Til månen og tilbake
Here's looking at you, kid
One ring to rule them all
Come what may
You had me at hello

Romantiske:
Starten av for alltid
Verdt å vente på
Endelig
Du har mitt hjerte
Lille skje, Store skje
Din for alltid
Jeg elsker deg
Din elskede xxx
i går, i dag, i morgen
In hand & in heart

Morsomme:
Den som gir seg er en dritt
Gud hjelpe oss
Sammen er vi dynamitt
Sammen er vi kaos
Din heldiggris
Prisen på ringene: xxxx
Property of xxx

Som du nå ser så finnes det flere kreative muligheter til gravering av gifteringer,
men her kommer et viktig tips!!
Teksten bør være kort og presis.
Det er ikke stor nok plass inne i ringen til å ha en lang tekst.

Om du har noen spørsmål om gravering eller ønsker gifteringer spesial designet til deg

Tips for engraving wedding rings

During the summertime I often get customer orders for wedding rings.
It may be jewellery stores that just want engraving, or it may be commissions from
customers that want wedding rings designed by me.

Hand engraving is a fantastic way to make your wedding rings unique and personal.
You can order the rings to be engraved on the outside or the inside.

As an engraver I've often been asked about what is common to engrave
on peoples wedding rings. Traditionally you would engrave the inside of the ring
with name and wedding date.
Ex. Your XXX and date.

But there are so many other options for those who want something different!
It could be nicknames, quotes, lyrics, symbols, romantic or funny quotations.
I have in this post written down some engraving suggestions:

Quote:
To the moon and back
Here's looking at you, kid
One ring two rule them all
Come what may
You had me at hello

Romantic:
The start of forever
Worth waiting for
Finally
You have my heart
Small spoon, Big spoon
Yours forever
I love you
Your beloved xxx
yesterday, today, tomorrow
In hand & in heart

Funny:
Whoever gives up is a shit
God help us
Together, we are dynamite
Together we chaos
Your lucky bastard
The price of rings: xxxx
Property of xxx

As you have now read there are many creative ways to spice up
the engraving on your wedding rings.
But here is an important tip!!
The text should be short and precise.
It’s not a large space inside the ring, so a long text will be difficult.

If you have any questions about engraving or want wedding rings
specially designed for you please get in touch:)

Nytt liv i gammelt vennskap :) June 14 2015

English below ---
Jeg får ofte kunde henvendelser over sosiale medier.

Reviving an old friendship

I often receive customer inquiries over Facebook.
This May, I received a very special order.
Siri was one of my followers on Ane Jewellery Facebook page,
she was also a girl I studied with at a norwegian folk high school
in Bergen, over ten years ago.

It was such a lovely surprise!
The years had flown by since we were 19 years old
and roamed the halls at Fana Folkehøyskole.
Her life had been enriched with two beautiful children and a great boyfriend,
while I had since our time in 2003 become a jewellery designer / goldsmith / engraver.

Now it was my fantastic Fana friend was getting married!
She had followed me through out the years on my jewellery journey
and now she wanted me to make the wedding rings!

Siri and her family lives in Haugesund, so we used Skype to communicate ideas.

I wanted to make something unique and personal to the future married couple. So I sat down at the drawing board and drew.

Around rings are the Roman numbers for the wedding date.
The symbol in the middle are the initials O and S for Ola and Siri.

I made the rings from white gold bolt.
I shaped them to the correct size, soldered, and then I hand engraved the rings.
Throughout the week I sent images to Siri and Ola,
so they could get a glimpse of the jewellery process.

Here is a video where I polish one of the rings.

Voila!

Siri and Ola got married June the 6 in a lovely ceremony.

Over ten years ago I became friends with the happy girl from Haugesund.
An old friendship is now revived.

I feel honored to have be a part of this journey.
And I wish the couple and their gorgeous kids a life filled with happiness, love and joy <3

#ArtjewelryChallenge February 02 2015

Ane Jewellery has been nominated!

The talented San Francisco based jewellery designer Jeannie Hwang has ask me to take part in the Facebook ‪#‎ArtjewelryChallenge.
Started by Donna Greenberg the idea is to show the incredible diversity of all the jewellery worldwide!
So for the next 5 days I will share a piece of my jewellery, and each day I will nominate another artist to show us theirs.

Today I nominate Susannah Baldwin, a wonderful artist and friend from the years at University. Show us your awesome work!:)

I want to start in the early beginnings. This is a brooch I made my 3 year at University of Creative Arts. I made a collection inspired by the Narcissus myth and on this picture I show you “Echo” a brooch made in silver and partly goldplated with periodot, citrine and garnet.
This piece was exhibited in London at New Designers and was sold to a lucky lady:)

Day two of the ‪#‎ArtJewelryChallenge started by Donna Greenberg.

I was nominated by the talented San Francisco based Jeannie Hwang.
For 5 days I will share a piece of my jewellery, and each day I will nominate another artist to show us theirs.

Today I will nominate Lizzie Peers, she is a highly skilled silversmith, and although her main focus is not jewellery.
Her work is too important to miss out on the #ArtJewelryChallenge !

The pictures below shows “Bon Bon Yeah” from 2009.
This is a silver bowl that I made when I lived at Bishopsland Education Trust. It was the first time I raised a silver plate to a bowl and I was very proud of the end result. The “ Bon Bon Yeah” was made for an exhibition at Victoria & Albert museum in London. Since then it has been on tour in the U.K and Norway. It is now back in my flat:)

Day three of the ‪#‎ArtjewelryChallenge started by Donna Greenberg.

I was nominated by the talented San Francisco based Jeannie Hwang.
For 5 days I will share a piece of my jewellery, and each day I will nominate another artist to show us theirs.

Today I nominate Master engraver Hratch Wachuma Nargizian.

I meet him in 2010 when I was invited to an Art Residency in San Francisco. I was so intrigued by engraving and wanted to learn from a Master! So one day I knock on Hratch´s door and that was the beginning of a 3 month engraving internship. Hratch is a great teacher, mentor and friend
Show us your amazing engraving!

The picture below is the ad for my 2010 San Francisco Exhibition.
At that time I hand forged big silver chains, letting the swirly shape of the silver wire create patterns I now engrave. This ad was made for my Solo exhibition in San Francscio. Which is kinda cool!:)

Day four of the ‪#‎ArtjewelryChallenge started by Donna Greenberg.

I was nominated by the talented San Francisco based Jeannie Hwang.
For 5 days I will share a piece of my jewellery, and each day I will nominate another artist to show us theirs.

Today I nominate Влад Кладько
A creative jewellery artist that makes unique adornments at Sugarshop Oslo.
Hit us up with your amazing work!

The picture below shows my 2012 Flowerdrops collection.
At the time I made these I was renting a workshop bench at Sugarshop Oslo. I wanted to make a collection with an exclusive touch so I engraved each flowerdrop by hand and set the jewellery with diamonds, rubies and safires. I think this is quite a delicate and feminine collection.

Last and final day!
Day Five of the ‪#‎ArtjewelryChallenge started by Donna Greenberg.

I was nominated by the talented San Francisco based Jeannie Hwang
For 5 days I will share a piece of my jewellery, and each day I will nominate another artist to show us theirs.
For my last day I will nominate a Norwegian jeweler that has astonish me. Remy Bugge Not only are you a brilliant jeweler and stone setter.
You are also an inspiration!

The picture below shows a recent angelwing pendant I engraved.
I wanted to make a large angelwing that demanded attention. I spent days engraving this piece. The pendant is made in silver and with white enamel. I really love the result and I know the female costumer wears it everyday.
